Counseling group members often report an understanding that they are "not alone” in facing challenges and gain from the perspective of others who have overcome similar difficulties. Groups foster the development of interpersonal skills and provide useful support from an understanding network of people. Counseling groups also provide a "safe” environment in which members can "test out” new found skills in an environment that is both supportive and cost effective.
