Presentation Title: Social Media Marketing 101 for Therapists: How To Build your Practice

Presented by: Dr. Morgan Francis, Psy.D., LPC

Program Description

Understanding the fundamentals of social media marketing is crucial in today's digital landscape. Social media marketing involves utilizing key platforms, each with its unique features, to enhance visibility and reach. It plays a significant role in building relationships with clients and expanding a practice's reach. Developing a tailored social media strategy involves outlining steps to create a plan, identifying target audiences, and understanding their behaviors on different platforms. Content creation and curation are vital, requiring an exploration of different content types that resonate with audiences and learning best practices for creating engaging, shareable content. This program is designed to equip psychologists with the tools and strategies necessary to effectively use social media to promote diversity and inclusion within their practice. By leveraging social media platforms, psychologists can reach a broader and more diverse audience, engage in meaningful conversations about mental health, and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable field. By the end of this presentation, participants will have a solid understanding of how to leverage social media to build and grow their practice, with actionable steps to create and implement an effective social media marketing strategy.

Program Level: Introductory

Learning Objectives

  1. Define four social media platforms and one unique feature of each platform.
  2. Identify two ways social media can enhance visibility and reach.
  3. List three different types of social media content that may resonate with the audience.
  4. Name three ways social media content will respect and attend to cultural differences (i.e., racial diversity, gender diversity, and other marginalized groups).
