The Arizona Psychological Association (AzPA), in collaboration with the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners (AzBoPE), invites you to a Psychology Community Forum that will provide an important update on the national and state-level development of master’s level psychology licensure and its potential impact in Arizona.
About the Forum In recent years, the American Psychological Association (APA) has advanced accreditation for master’s programs in Health Service Psychology beginning in 2018.
Meanwhile, in February 2025, the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) approved its PRI-LM model, a regulatory framework emphasizing public protection. It addresses:
Arizona’s Approach The Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners has committed to approaching this issue thoughtfully and strategically, with a potential target of 2027 for introducing legislation. The Board has emphasized the importance of broad stakeholder engagement—including professional associations, academic programs, training sites, and licensed psychologists—to ensure the integrity of the process and protection of the public.
