Wednesday, August 19, 2026 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Arizona time
On August 19th at 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Dr. Nazari will present the webinar The Neuroscience of Contemplative Practice in Psychotherapy as part of the National Register’s Clinical Webinar Series. Dr. Nazari will review the neuroscience of contemplative practices, such as mindfulness, compassion meditation, and breath awareness, and their relevance to stress physiology, emotion regulation, interoception, and therapeutic presence. She will discuss how these practices can be ethically and clinically integrated into psychotherapy in ways that are responsive to client culture, trauma history, and readiness, while addressing key cautions like spiritual bypassing, dissociation, and overactivation. Through research-informed discussion and applied examples, clinicians will gain practical strategies for incorporating contemplative approaches with appropriate pacing, consent, and scope of practice.
